Aiden's up first...
It has been quite a week at the Johnson home. First we are so excited to finally say Aiden has moved forward in the potty training process. Shae and I were beginning to think we would be changing his diapers forever. It all started Thursday night when Aiden was playing in the bathtub. I was feeding Brooklyn on the couch when I heard the following words I never thought I would hear come out of Aiden's mouth. "Mom, I have to pee!" I didn't quite know what to do but Shae ran into the bathroom at lightning speed, pulled him out of the tub and put him on the potty. I wasn't convinced because we have been sitting on the potty for about 6 months with nothing happening. However, to our surprise he stood up and low and behold there was something yellow in there. We were so ecstatic that we did the potty dance, gave him stickers and treats, called his friends and family. I was excited but still not convinced we had turned the corner. However, he went the next day twice and then three times on Saturday, including all by himself while Aunt Mer was babysitting. I know we still have a ways to go but it is a start and a good one at that. Aiden we are so proud of you.
Here is a little video of him putting a sticker on his chart.
Okay, Brooklyn's turn...
As many of you know our sweet little Brooklyn is not a big fan of taking medicine, a bottle, cereal, or basically putting anything edible in her mouth. She acts like we are trying to poison her every time we try. You may remember back to our Jan. 4Th post. This would be exhibit A or her first try at cereal. Below you will find exhibit B and C. Enjoy.
Exhibit B- Feb. 4
After giving it a little hiatus we decided to try again. Brooklyn was still not a big fan of the cereal. She would basically take a bite, gag on it and then hide it in her cheeks so we thought she had swallowed it. Then after about 4 bites she would spit them all out.
Exhibit C - Feb 16 - Progress made...
Third time is a charm. This time we mixed her cereal with bananas. After about four or five bites I think she realized that she liked it and actually swallowed it down. Shae even got her to eat over half the bowl. Hopefully now I can leave her for more than three or four hours at a time Waaahooo!
So as you can see we had a pretty exciting week. Shae did press our luck and tried to give her another bottle, of which she would have nothing but screaming to do with. I guess two out of three isn't bad.

Yeah for both! It is so nice, yet so surprising when children just decide on their own to go potty! The video of Brooklyn is hilarious. She is such a cutie!
Happy Late Birthday Beth! I was thinking about you and was going to call, but we had a crazy day with Kadence's birthday as well. Glad it was a good one. Congrats on the potty training progress...Kadence would go before baths for the last 6-7 months, but finally almost 3 weeks ago, she made the transition and did it. It's so nice only having to change 1 kid's diapers! Good luck!
Beth! It's been to long friend. First of all, I'm sorry I missed your birthday--Happy late birthday! I'm glad that you were well taken care of then.
Second, the kids are darling and I'm so happy that Aiden is making progress!
When you get a chance, will you send me your phone number so I can call you? Lots to catch up on and I would love to hear how things are going in Oregon.
love jill
